Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This policy explains, in plain English, what data Megasauce collects, why, and what we do and don't do with it. We tried to keep it honest and short. If something here doesn't match what the app actually does, the app is the bug β tell us.
Account data
When you sign up, we collect your email address to create and secure your account. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Your profile can also include a username, display name, bio, and an avatar β you choose what to add, and your profile is publicly visible on Megasauce.
Content you post
Megasauce is a community app, so the things you create are stored and β where the feature is public β shown to others. That includes your sauce (tips), comments, reactions, saves, receipts ("ran it β W/L"), and any reports you file. Reactions and saves power the scores and leaderboards; receipts power the public W rate on each sauce. Your reports are used for moderation and aren't shown publicly as yours.
Un-rot check-ins are private
Your un-rot daily check-ins are private by default. We store them so we can track your streak and progress, but they are not shown publicly β nobody can see which tasks you check off. The only thing that can become public is a streak flair or streak count, and only if you turn on sharing. Even then, we broadcast the streak number, never the underlying check-ins. Turn sharing off any time and it goes private again.
Anonymous error reports
To fix crashes, the app sends anonymous error reports when something breaks in your browser. These contain the error message, a technical stack trace, the page URL, and your browser's user-agent string. They do not include your user ID, email, or account β we can't tie an error report back to you. They're capped per session and only sent in the production app.
What we don't do
- No ads. We don't run advertising and don't share your data with ad networks.
- No selling your data. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Full stop.
- No third-party analytics or tracking. We currently don't use any third-party analytics or tracking tools. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase, our backend and database provider, which hosts our authentication, database, and edge functions. AI tips are generated through an AI gateway when you use "Ask the Sauce" or "spice it up"; the prompt you send is processed to generate a response and isn't used to build a profile of you.
Deleting your data
You can delete your content in the app. To delete your account and the personal data tied to it, email us and we'll take care of it. Some content that's already been shared publicly, and records we're legally required to keep, may persist after deletion.
Children
Megasauce is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes and contact
We'll update this policy as Megasauce grows, and we'll change the "Last updated" date when we do. Questions, requests, or deletion asks? Reach us at hello@megasauce.app. See also our Terms of Service.
